Delano Wedding: Addison and Christopher | Jerome Event Center | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

I don’t remember if we have ever shot a Delano wedding before. If not, this is our first Delano wedding! It was shot at the Jerome Event Center.

We’ve pretty much been looking forward to this wedding since the day Addison and Christopher booked with us. Why? Because they remind us so much of us. They’re just really fun people and it’s great working with people like them. They’re really big into theater, which we love. We spent a huge chunk of our time at the last consult with them talking about Wicked, Cats, Six and more. So much fun.

Not to mention the fact that their engagement session is so memorable for us. They are one of our couples that got up early and did a sunrise engagement session. Those are my favorites. It was in Saint Anthony and it was a chilly day. They brought coffee and it made a presence in the photos because their hands were cold. Their wedding day was so nice out. They were married at the Jerome Event Center on an unnaturally warm October day.

Highlights of the day:

– I’m saying this first, even though it happened at the end of the day. They had a congo line. I haven’t seen a congo line at a wedding since 1991. They need to be brought back. It was hysterical.

– Christopher is very much like me, in that he’s very detail oriented and needs to know what is happening all the time. I just kept laughing about this all day.

– We got to do an awesome long exposure photo at night of the wedding party circling them and the fire. It’s different than what we normally do, but fun.

– They had vegan cheesecake. I can’t have dairy and haven’t had cheesecake in about a decade. It was SO good!

– Their dance floor was UNBELIEVABLE. I’m going to do an article in the future about ways you can get kickass dance floor photos and use this wedding as an example. I seriously wanted to stay after eight hours of working because their dance floor was so much fun.
