The American Swedish Institute, is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue. It’s like a hidden castle in the middle of Minneapolis. It was the perfect spot for Liz and Phelan’s incredible fall wedding. Also, a great place to spend Kyle’s birthday because it happened on the same day.
I feel like we have been waiting for this wedding forever. Liz and Phelan actually worked with us prior to getting engaged. We did a great session with them in Minneapolis. So when they asked us to shoot their wedding, we were thrilled. Usually when a couple does an engagement session with us prior to booking wedding photography, that’s it. However, they wanted to do another session. And it was AWESOME. They based it on album covers, which is totally up our alley. We spent a lot of time researching awesome covers and mixing them into their second session. It was so something that we would do and that made us enjoy working with them so much.
Liz and Phelan are also the first people to book our film option. It’s when we shoot two rolls of film on a wedding day and was so fitting for their wedding.
Highlights of the day:
- Liz’s dress!!! Look, I know I say this just about ever other wedding. But did you see it? It was the first thing we saw walking into the room.
- They had an Elvis impersonator. He introduced them and then sang during dinner. He was really good too!
- The flowers were so beautiful. I’ve never seen flowers like that.
- Speaking of which, there was SO much color at this wedding. It was just amazing.
