This engagement session is another prime example of the super fun clients we have. I mean, how many people do rock climbing engagement photos?
There are so many of our couples that ask to do themed engagement shoots. Or ones that some may consider outside the traditional box. We LOVE this. Why? It means that people are being themselves when they are working with us. They aren’t worried about making their photos look a specific way. Case in point – we have done an album cover themed engagement session. We did a tea party session. Recently, a Halloween one. We’ve done a bunch of themes. They’re so fun. When we booked with these two, they asked if they could do engagement photos at their rock climbing gym.
We are always up for these options. The biggest issue is making sure that the place is cool with it. Which the Bouldering Project in Minneapolis absolutely was. As long as we were respectful of other people in the gym and signed a waiver, we were golden.
Megan and Kai also wanted some of the more traditional ones. We all decided Boom Island Park would be a great option. It is across the street from the gym, so travel time was easy. We decided to do a sunrise session. And guess what happens? It rains. A lot. They were SO great about it. We were all just laughing the whole time. If you look closely, you can see raindrops on their clothes.
We had a fun time running around in the rain and then went over to the gym. You could tell they really enjoyed rock climbing and were totally in their element. They climbed a bit and then we went into the yoga studio for some photos as well.
This wedding is one of our winter weddings next year. They are getting married in February and we are so excited to work with them again!
