We first met Val and Ethan when we shot their chilly November engagement photography on, you guessed it, a chilly November day.

This wasn’t any day for chilly November engagement photography.  This was the day after Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving “weekend” looked very different for us this year than most years.  Rather than simply hosting the holiday, we had a lot of work to do. We actually went to two family members’ different dinners on Thanksgiving.  The next day, we got up early and drove upstate for a family session.  We then came back to the cities for this session.  We then drove to the University to review Twas the Night Before by Circ du Soleil.  The next day, we shot a wedding.  And finally, on Sunday, we had a wedding consult.  Normally such a calm weekend…

Val and Ethan booked us over the phone this summer.  They are from Michigan, so we hadn’t met in person prior to this session.  They were both so much fun to work with.  You never know when you haven’t met people before.  That joke was made quite a bit during the session. This day was quite cold by comparison to the rest of the days that week.  To say the least, there was a lot of red fingertips and ears edited in these photos.  When we arrived, we saw a ton of people there.  Turns out, there was a scavenger hunt going on.  As we walked around, we kept finding things, like a little Captain America hanging in a tree.  It was really fun.

The two of them are getting married next October at Dellwood Country Club.  We shot a wedding there years back and are super excited to get back there.  Such a gorgeous venue. It’s going to be such a fun time.
