I have to say that anniversary photography is one of my favorite things.  If you’re wondering what anniversary photography is, here’s the deal.
Lisa contacted us to do a photo session for her and her husband’s tenth wedding anniversary. It was awfully nice because this was during our slower season. She also really wanted to get them for Christmas cards. We didn’t meet until the day of the session. We knew from the moment they got out of the car that we were going to really enjoy working with them. They were both just so much fun.
Anyone who has been married for ten year (or even just together that long) knows that you won’t be doing a super serious photo session. We have been together for over twenty years. After such a long amount of time, you’re not nervous around each other for any reason. So we were all just laughing through the whole session. It was so fun. It’s honestly a thing where if you have been together a long time, you get it. There are elements of the relationship where you’re like, whatever. Let’s just have fun regardless.
Upon booking this photography session, we were of the belief that there would snow during it. We couldn’t have all been more wrong, but honestly, we were all happy about it. Minnesota is going through a very snow free December, which we love. It wasn’t freezing cold, like the last time we were at Hansen Tree Farm. There was a light dusting of snow, which still made for a winter vibe. Hansen Tree Farm is such an awesome location any time of year, so it was beautiful to do photography there. The farm was actually closed for the year, so we were there alone.
Again, it was just fun. The fact that the two wanted to do photos of them shotgunnig beers at the end of the session made me just love their marriage. They’re great. I could see a lot of people being like, “Oh, that’s not good for formal photos!” No, that’s fun. Do what you want. Have fun.
