Boom Island Park Wedding
Janey and Zach had a Boom Island Park wedding in Minneapolis on beautiful May afternoon. It was one of the nicest days so far this year. Their wedding was a smaller one, with only their family and close friends in attendance. Call it an elopement, call it a micro wedding. We just call it a smaller wedding. Whatever you call it, it was a lot of fun and we loved working with them.
Picture this. It’s Saturday on Boom Island. It’s May, super sunny and warm and guess what? Prom night is also happening for a ton of surrounding schools! There were SO many people dressed up for prom photos there. Not too mention engagement photography and senior photography. When we did the first look, there was a huge group of kids doing prom photos. When the first look happened, there a huge, “AWE…” from the girls. It was so funny.
Janey and Zach were originally going to get married by the Stone Arch Bridge. For those of you that are reading this currently, you know that the Stone Arch Bridge just went under huge construction. After checking out the area, they just decided to move it. They found a really pretty spot for the ceremony. It was shaded and much quieter than the main area. Janey’s sister officiated the wedding. We always love when family officiates. It’s so meaningful.
After the ceremony, we did couple photos, including champagne sprays. Those are so much fun. Janey wore her sunglasses for a lot of those photos. I just love that. It shows how much fun a person is having with the day.
Overall, it was an awesome way to start our wedding season!!
