Olympic Hills Golf Club Wedding Photography

Sarah and Ryan were married at the Olympic Hills Golf Club wedding in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on a gorgeous spring day.  We had been working with them since we shot their engagement session last year.  The two of them came from Chicago for the engagement session.  They now reside in Texas, so they are all over the place.  That made for guests from all over the country at the wedding, which was really cool.

This was our first full day wedding of the big season.  It was a really fun one to start out with.  Everyone was great to work with, both in the wedding and vendors.  It just felt really easy and again, fun, which is wonderful.  It’s the way all weddings should be.

Highlights of the Day

• I have to say it now, even though it’s a later in the day thing, but they had a KILLER dance floor!  This is a thing that really makes for awesome wedding photos that a lot of people don’t think of.  It was so much fun.
• The two of them did private vows.  I’ve said it before, but we love when people do that.
• It was SO windy.  We have done this before where we had to do formal photos inside due to wind.  It was so crazy.  But everyone took it in stride.
• Sarah and Ryan didn’t have their dog at the wedding, but they had his face on the napkins.
• Sarah did a first look with her dad and with Ryan.  She decided to do one with the bridesmaids the day of.  I was all worried about the timing of everything and then Kyle just goes, “Oh, we can totally do that!”  Lol, we’re so different.  But it was a lot of fun.  We also surprised Sarah by having the groomsmen all wait outside of the room she was hiding in.  Because of that, she ended up having a surprise first look with the groomsmen as well.
• The speeches were so much fun. Everyone was laughing so much.  It’s evident in the photos below.  It’s always great when the vendors end up laughing during speeches because we don’t even know what people are talking about.
• Sarah kept telling me how the day was just exactly how she had wanted.  That is AWESOME.  So often, people stress on wedding days.  It’s really refreshing to hear that from people.
