Renaissance Themed Engagement Photos
This has to be one of my favorite engagement sessions we have ever shot. For those that follow us, you know we have done a lot of themed engagement sessions. We have creative clients. What can we say?
We met Kieran and Michael months before this session to talk wedding photography for their fall wedding. Their planner, Queerly Beloved Events, initially contacted us. We have only had a few weddings where the planner contacts us first. But it’s a great way to go because it helps weed out vendors that may not be the best for you. So we were really excited to get to meet with them in person.
In short, they were total nerds like us. It was one of those meetings where we talked weddings, but mainly talked about fandoms and such. They are planning on a pretty chill wedding with a reception that is less traditional. They want their guests to have a calmer atmosphere, which we love.
For the engagement session, Kieran contacted me the night prior and said they decided to go with their Renaissance outfits with real sword. Which we LOVE, by the way. We met them at sunrise in Taylors Falls. If you have ever shot with us, you know we only shoot at Taylor’s Falls at sunrise. It’s because the first we shot there was at sunset and it was WAY too crowded. It’s so much calmer at sunrise and there are far fewer people. We are just in love with the way these photos turned out. They did decide to do a “regular” outfit look for their second outfit, but really, the first one stole the show.
Their wedding is in September and we are so excited to work with them and their family again!
