A Bavaria Downs wedding makes for SUCH a gorgeous wedding. And we are not fans of the winter, but I actually like a Bavaria Downs wedding better in the winter. There is a magical quality to it with all the snow. That being said, it was ONE degree out when we arrived in the morning. But there was a -10 wind chill so it felt SO much colder. Regardless, this wedding was wonderful.
We shot Lex and Jake’s engagement session during the warm months. They are both so cute. They’re the type of people that were really nervous about the engagement photography. Then at the end of the session, they were so happy and comfortable. Anyone who know us knows that is what makes us happy. There also is nothing better than being comfortable on your wedding day. Lex mentioned being happy about having the engagement session done a few times on the wedding day because the wedding photography was so easy.
I have to say that I LOVED Bavaria Downs’ indoor ceremony site. They also have an outdoor site, but that indoor site is so pretty. You’ve got the big windows, chandeliers, and more. It’s pure perfection anytime of the year, whether it rains, snows, or you just decide on air conditioning in the summer. I always like to make mention of awesome indoor sites because so many couples worry about it.
Everyone the day of Lex and Jake’s wedding was lovely to work with. The moment we walked in the door, their parents were so sweet. You would think we had known them for years. The wedding party was great and their guests were all so fun.
Highlights of the day:
- Lex and her dad did a big dance together. They did the traditional father daughter dance, then broke into a much faster pace.
- Lex and Jake did their own private vows. We personally love this new trend because we are the type of people that liked doing our vows privately as well.
- Everyone was so sweet and just the type of people that were grateful for everything. That’s so nice because often times at weddings, people focus on the wrong things.
- Lex and Jake braved the cold for some amazing photos!
